Providing Care for Hospitalized Patients

Should you need to stay at Marian Regional Medical Center, we want you to be as comfortable as possible. For this reason, our medical staff includes physicians known as hospitalists, who provide care exclusively for hospitalized patients. The hospitalists at Marian have extensive experience in providing hospital care, and are available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. He or she, in addition to nurses and other hospital staff, will give you personalized attention and will be familiar with your medical history and case.

A significant benefit provided by hospitalists is that they are immediately available. Changes in your condition can be responded to in a timely manner and test results can be evaluated quickly. Hospitalists communicate with your own doctor during the hospital stay and send detailed notes to him or her after discharge. Your doctor decides whether he or she wants the hospitalist to care for you.
