Early Detection Saves Lives
Marian's newly remodeled Breast Imaging Center houses the latest in technology with a caring and sensitive staff. The Center offers the following exams:
- Digital Mammography: Mammography is low-dose x-ray procedure, and the most reliable method available for the detection of breast cancer. Marian has two digital mammography machines that take clearer, faster images with less radiation than a tradition film mammogram. This equipment is coupled with the sophisticated screening tool called Second Look, a computer-aided detection (CAD) technology that provides a computerized seco nd review of mammograms and can highlight potential areas of concern.
- Stereotactic Biopsy System: This stereotactic equipment provides non-surgical detection of breast disease. It is highly accurate and a significant advance in the ease and accuracy of diagnosing breast disorders.
- Ultrasound: Ultrasound uses sound waves to produce an instantaneous image of the body that appears on a video screen.
