Marian's Emergency Services team stands ready, 24 hours a day, seven days a week to respond to medical emergencies.

About 4,000 patients per month are treated in our Emergency Services department by residency trained, Board certified physicians and nurses highly skilled in meeting the needs of patients with medical emergencies. If a medical situation should require additional expertise, Marian has physicians on its medical staff representing over 35 specialties.

With large volume and a wide variety of cases on a daily basis, staff members keep their skills extremely sharp, a crucial factor in emergency medicine. Marian's emergency team provides services in a modern, fully-equipped facility. A triage nurse evaluates each patient, directing those with non-life threatening symptoms to the Emergency Department Outpatient Service Annex where they are treated quickly, efficiently, and then released. Patients with life threatening conditions are triaged to an emergency department bed for immediate treatment.

The importance of a team approach to a patient's care is emphasized at Marian. Communication from paramedics to the emergency physicians and nurses, to the patient's own physician is essential.

One of the center's most important goals is to provide the highest quality care to patients. The staff responds to the challenge of providing quality, compassionate care while working quickly and efficiently.
