Our Commitment to Patient Safey

At Marian Medical Center, your safety is one of our highest priorities. Patient safety is so important to us that we developed an interdisciplinary team to improve and maintain the culture of safety at Marian.

Through the efforts of the members of the Patient Safety Program, Marian has achieved a multitude of recognition for patient safety standards. Below are just a few examples:

  • Rapid Response Teams were implemented in 2006 to promote early recognition and response to changes in patient condition. As a result, inpatient code blue has declined by 6%.
  • Marian's Maternal Hemorrhage Protocol, implemented in 2009, was recognized by CHW as a best practice and adopted in 33 Labor and Delivery units across the CHW system. The development of the protocol has been recognized by the California Maternal Quality Care Collaborative (CMQCC)
  • The 2009 Fall Reduction Program was recognized by The Joint Commission as a best practice
