(Santa Maria, CA) – Marian Breast Imaging Center recently acquired a new digital mammography system that enables its physicians to detect and diagnose breast cancer at its earliest and most treatable stage. The most modern mammography equipment available today, this innovative new system provides outstanding image quality and clear, highly-detailed images of the breast.
Dr. Mark Ziemba, Medical Director of Marian Imaging Services explains, “This new, alldigital system is revolutionizing breast care by providing our patients with state-of-the-art mammograms that are faster, easier and more comfortable than ever before, while providing our physicians with highly detailed images to use in the diagnosis.”
Marian Breast Imaging patients will now not only have the benefit of more advanced diagnostic technology but exams can take less than half the time. The average exam time for a digital mammogram is 10-15 minutes as opposed to the 30 or more minutes it takes for a traditional film-based mammogram. Digital imagery also allows for virtually instantaneous reading of results as the images can be reviewed electronically and need not be printed like a traditional x-ray film.
